Lahore, June 28 (ANI): The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is reorganising itself around Peshawar and planning a major terror strike on the provincial capital, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain has warned.

Speaking during a press conference here, Hussain said there are reports that militants were reorganising themselves after they were rooted out of the region by the security forces.

“Thousands of terrorists may be gathering in small groups in Orakzai, and in the Mohmand and Khyber agencies,” The Daily Times quoted Hussain, as saying.

“The provincial government and the security forces are ready to take immediate action to thwart all such nefarious designs of the militants,” he added.

Describing North Waziristan as the “capital of terrorists”, Hussain expressed the fear that
Peshawar could face the wrath of the Taliban in response to the security forces’ offensive in the lawless tribal region.

He said the government is doing its best to eliminate militants once and for all. (ANI)
